Organizing the hunger
Posted on | October 26, 2010 | No Comments
Today I had a doctor’s appointment that resulted nicely – a Codeine prescription! Instead of enjoying the amazing hazy dreamy state that these little guys have to offer, I decided to start the process of organizing all the images of food and treats, from travel to cooking experiments, that I have stored all over the place. Bad Julie! Disorganized! I’ve never been food shy so this this is going to take me forever and a day to pull together.
Round 1 for your viewing pleasure is from a September event that I go to every year with my friend A. We live in the same city but, for some reason or another, girlie dates are impossible to schedule so she and I make merry with annual deliciousness.

Roaming Furniture

Below is one of my favourite chairs in the world. I’ve had it for years and all it can do is sit there and look pretty. This twee piece of furniture with it’s rickety crickety legs and peeling paint, is so old and delicate that the poor thing would collapse in a heap of sticks if anyone attempted to slide their bum onto it.
Le chair went for a subway adventure tonight to it’s new home and what fun we had! People could not figure out why the hell I had a chair on the tube. Why wouldn’t I? Free moving and the potential for a good story or two? Yes please. The Pratt students snickered and were stupid. Anyone over the age of 60 thought it was fantastic and were happily asking me questions.
I’ll side with the grownups.

Creep Finger Sunday
Posted on | September 12, 2010 | No Comments
What a weekend! Fashion’s Night Out in the city as well as Brooklyn – Hayden Harnett, music, really good food, meeting some super cool new people, reconnecting with fabulous friends that I haven’t seen in forever. Oh! And experiencing John Waters bring the weird to Coco66. Yah. Good times.
As promised this is my attempt at updating le blog.. lame(ish), and I SWEAR to get back into it, but at least I leave you with a photo of me taken at All Tomorrow’s Parties NY. It’s aptly named “creep finger” and stemmed from finding a random creepy carrot that looked like a finger. Oh, c’mon. Copious amounts of booze and amazing music, and friends and lack of sleep, bring some strange fun times. Please note that I have no idea why the last frame is just colour. Could be the carrot. Could be someone’s arse. Who knows?

Or “Julie, when are you going to get back to your regularly scheduled program (aka: daily blogging!)” Well, darlings, that is a VERY good question. There are some changes to the blog that are taking place behind the scenes and they do take time away from the usual entertainment. I promise to get back on track soon.. but in the meantime.. how about if I update three times a week? Is that good?
Oui? Oui!
xoxo
PS – Some links have broken and I’m slowly going through trying to update. Please be patient and I apologize from the bottoms of my petits pots de creme au chocolat et a la vanille.
The bitch is BACK!

Too much insanity today so I share with you a band that makes me very very happy and gets me through many hours at work. Yes, there are other bands I like, but Ra Ra Riot gets it done.
This song in particular, Ghost Under Rocks, I have a tendency to sing extremely loud. It also features prominently during some of my private de-stress dance parties.
Appréciez
PS Watch the video PLUS the Rhumb Line Live film. Please?
PSS I accidentally thought it was Friday. Thanks CL! All fixed.
